How long does setup take?
Creating an account and connecting your bank takes a few minutes. Operate asks for the rest in the chat.
Do I need a credit card?
No. The Free plan is free and needs no credit card.
Can I look at Operate first?
Yes, the demo with sample data runs without registration.

VAT returns and tax returns
Does Operate file anything without me?
No. From Pro you can approve the VAT return in advance – with notice one week before the deadline, revocable at any time. Nothing is filed until you explicitly approve it.
Which returns does Operate prepare?
VAT return (filing from Pro), E1, E1a, U1 and L1 as drafts.
Do I still need a tax advisor?
You handle the routine yourself with Operate. Your tax advisor stays responsible for advice and special cases – they receive everything as a BMD or DATEV export.
Does Operate handle SVS?
No. Operate neither reports nor pays SVS contributions.

What does Operate cost?

Is there a trial?
You can try paid plans for 14 days. After that, 30 days money-back.
Can I take my data with me?
Yes, export at any time.

Where is my data?
Hosted in the EU: servers in Frankfurt, database in Frankfurt, receipts and uploaded documents in Stockholm. Credentials and receipts are stored encrypted.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. Mind the statutory retention duties under the BAO – Operate explains what may be deleted.
